Stay At The Queen Elizabeth 2 Cruise Hotel

Hello life - lovers

Being on a cruise was always on my bucket list. But being on a cruise hotel was beyond that. So I couldn’t contain my excitement when I finally got to try the Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise hotel in Dubai.

Queen Elizabeth 2 ship now permanently docked in Dubai as a tourist attraction and a hotel.  the Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2), was launched in 1967 and made its maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York in 1969. The ship, 963 feet (294 metres) long and displacing 70,327 tons, was slightly smaller than its predecessor so that it could pass through the Panama Canal and operate as a cruise ship in addition to being a transatlantic liner. Its steam turbine engines gave it a top speed of 32.5 knots (though its service speed was 28.5 knots). In 1982 the QE2 was briefly requisitioned as a troop carrier in the Falkland Islands War. In 1986–87 the turbines were replaced with diesel engines. The QE2 made its final voyage between New York and England in 2008, after having become the longest-serving ship in Cunard’s history. Later that year the ship sailed to Dubai, where it was handed over to new owners for refitting as a floating hotel.

The hotel now offers 224 rooms for accommodation. It has 2 bars and a restaurant. It also has a theatre where comedy nights and special entertainments are quite often held.

The check in was hassle free and I was given the room in the top most floor. The room is petite but quite cozy and gives you the historic feels. It comes with the usual amenities and a flat screen TV mounted right above the bed.

The in - room dining was available 24*7 and I absolutely loved the tres leches I had ordered in the night. Their bars are pretty economical and vast. I personally loved their Friday brunches and I am
looking forward to trying out their afternoon high tea one day.

The stay costs between 250-400 AED depending on the season.
Absolutely looking forward to coming back again

Much love
