#GLOSSTRAVELS - WHY LALIT NEW DELHI IS REDEFINING HOTEL STAYS IN INDIA

I recently had a press trip to India where I had the oppurtunity to stay at one of the most luxurious properties of Lalit - The New Delhi property. 

The Lalit New Delhi - a fine example of these great value luxury hotels that I mentioned earlier. Located near CP, it is also very conveniently located especially if coming from New Delhi International Airport. The city is well-known for its traffic jams, especially if you’re staying in one of the hotels around the city center. The hotel’s strategic location just next to the metro station allowing guests to avoid that hassle altogether especially if you are looking to be a traveler than a tourist. It’s only around 30 minutes from the airport. Many tourist attractions are close by. 

CHECK - IN PROCESS

The check in process was laid-back and only took a few minutes where I had to provide my documents and sign all of the necessary paperwork. I was told that my suitcase was already delivered to the room and I had to just take the elevator.

ROOM

The room itself was very impressive and it surprised me how big a room for just one or two people could be. It was actually probably closer to the size of a small apartment than what you would consider to be a hotel room. Upon walking in the first thing I noticed was the huge bed in the center of the first part of the room. Obviously I ran into the room and spread eagle jumped right onto the mattress just to test its durability and comfort. The mattress was very comfortable, the sheets were soft and the pillows were more than suitable enough for me to get a good nights sleep. 

In case you’re not happy with the pillows there’s even a pillow menu that you can use to switch your pillow to something firmer or softer depending on your preferences.Beside the bed/sleeping area was a small living room type area a few steps down. There was a couch, coffee table and a small desk in this area which was separated from the bed area.I could best describe the interiors as contemporary, one that can withstand the test of time with its brown hues and lack of any garish elements.The open concept allowed the bedroom to look larger as it integrated well with the bathroom. For those seeking privacy, sliding curtain panels allowed for a bed and bath separation.The view of Delhi was definitely the cherry on top.The whole scene looked a bit like a promo picture that hotels publicize in booking websites.Overall, I found the entire suite to be spacious, comfortable and full of any of the amenities you need for a stay of any length of time - including mini fridge filled with food (chargeable).

RESTAURANTS 

BALUCHI 

The staff here is suited and booted. The food most definitely is amazing. As we were shown to our table my friend and I walked past the wine bottle counter and saw beautifully presented wine bottles of fine dining delights. I got adventurous with my main - choosing the vegetarian course. I took a lovely turn down memory lane with this dish - their signature biriyani. Thankfully my food envy was no more once my dessert arrived - rasamalai. My first crack into the wobbly texture was pure joy. It was the most refreshing dessert I had tasted in a long time.The relaxed unpretentious feel of this place together with the tremendous skill at work in the kitchen means this place doesn’t need to talk up its credentials.

24*7 RESTAURANT AND BAR 

More formal of the hotel's dining venues, whilst retaining a casual ambiance.Throughout the BRUNCH, you can find dishes prepared with the freshest of local ingredients, the finest of wines and the friendliest of service to create a truly magical dining experience. Brunch menu offers more share style dishes with a cocktail included. We sampled dishes created for the event that showcased some of the flavours that 24*7 is all about. The flavours were authentic and the presentation stunning. The atmosphere was convivial, just like brunch should be, although I’m sure the cocktails helped that along. They also have an extensive mocktail offering if alcohol is not your thing.

KITTY SU

I finally got the taste of the much talked about Kitty Su. They place has become way more spectacular than what I imagined. It really is amazing to think what this place can offer. Not to mention! You get to enjoy with some amazing drinks!Delightful food, silky cocktails, visually entertaining surroundings fill your senses. The food here is not only a treat to the stomach but also to the eyes. Being a vegetarian the options are very limited. So I would advise you to check with the staff just in case. 

POOL SIDE DINING

The best way to impress a date. Dinner was always a spectacle. There was always the option to buy a nice bottle of wine or champagne. It is much quieter, laid-back and offered a more personal experience compared to the rest of the bars at the hotel. Not to mention the all weather pools.

GYM AND SPA

The hotel also had an excellent gym and while it wasn’t particularly huge, it’s above-average in terms of size when compared to other hotels of the same class. The gym’s integrated with the spa. I underwent the body massage with more focus on the knots in my back and neck region. My masseuse was definitely amazing and I found instant relief that lasted upto two weeks. A visit to Rejuve Spa will relax your body, soothe your soul and uplift your spirits. Spoil yourself with a treatment from their extensive spa menu or indulge in our specialty spa packages which are perfect for couples.Their professional therapists are always happy to assist you and the entire experience was more than rejuvenating.

VERDICT

During my entire stay I never experienced any issues with the quality of service that I received.

Everyone was very cordial, friendly and welcoming. If I ever had any problems throughout the day all I had to do was ask anyone nearby that was working and they would try their hardest to solve my problem or address my concern as fast as possible.This property seems to get it all right. Service was topnotch and if there’s one thing that will always stay with me regarding this hotel, it would be that keen attention to detail and the genuine desire to serve.It’s also a definite plus that this property has prominent and strong F&B offerings.I’m deeply impressed and I would highly recommend a stay here.
